Authors Guidelines

56th Annual Laurance Reid Gas Conditioning Conference
February 26 - March 1, 2006

Seed Sower ~ South Oval, University of Oklahoma CampusThe following essential criteria for this conference have been established by the Advisory Committee. These criteria apply to all papers (both oral and poster) accepted for the conference. Click here for additional guildelines for speakers; click here for additional guidelines for posters.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  1. The conference program is carefully planned to emphasize pertinent material with fresh, new facets which will interest the audience.
  2. Free discussion is essential and is encouraged. It is agreed that no part of the discussion will be published.
  3. Commercialism is discouraged and held to an absolute minimum although it is recognized that trade names are often essential in the discussion of the various subjects. Authors are asked to exercise good taste in this respect.

  4. Paper Length:
We recommend a maximum paper length of 20 pages including figures, charts, etc.

  5. Format:
In order to ensure consistency of printed papers, we ask that authors adhere to these "single column format" (guidelines). Further instructions in the form of a sample paper adhering to the guidelines are given here (sample paper example, download).

Your paper for the printed proceedings must be prepared and printed in black and white since this is how it will be reproduced. Often color versions of graphs, pictures, etc. do not show the desired contrast when printed in black and white. Instead of colored lines and symbols in graphs, for example, you should use different style lines and symbol shapes so that graphs can be easily and correctly interpreted.

For the conference CD-ROM proceedings, the use of color can enhance your paper, so authors may also submit a second electronic version for use in the CD-ROM. The format and content of this CD-ROM version should be identical to those of the first (black and white) version, but with appropriate use of color in figures, graphs, etc.

CONFERENCE ATTENDEES:

It is expected that 300-350 participants will attend this three-day conference held at the University of Oklahoma Continuing Education Center. Those attending are usually engineers or physical scientists associated with operating companies or suppliers to the gas industry, and they tend to have a long experience with the various facets of gas conditioning. About half of the group will attend for the first time.

Contact for more information about the LRGC Conference Email for more information about the conference. MANUSCRIPT AND PRE-PRINTS:

By November 18, 2005 each presenter must send a copy of the paper to be presented to the appropriate LRGCC Advisory Committee member. January 10, 2006 is the absolute final day for the full paper to be submitted to The University of Oklahoma for inclusion in the proceedings. Copyright material of any type will not be accepted or approved for presentation at this conference. All papers presented will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Any original illustrations should be identified so that, after they are copied for distribution, they may be returned to the author(s), if requested.
